Hmm - you never actually addressed the question of who gets to write what stories. Who gets to decide? Should a committee be formed to review all content and scrub it of anything that could potentially be considered offensive to somebody? Who sits on that committee? Should we burn every book ever written by hetero white men who existed before the era of the new vocabulary and terminology? How about recruiting tech saavy Thems to develop an app that would help some of us Boomer types navigate this continuously shifting landscape with in-the-moment notifications alerting us to the emergence of new identities and their associated symbols, hand gestures, clicks and grunts so that we don't accidentally commit the egregious error of mis-gendering someone? Or gendering someone. Or using a gender-neutral pronoun when the organism in question prefers to be addressed by a series of short, syncopated squawks.
