I appreciated Ki Soto’s analysis as well. I am, however confused by your response. Where does he claim that people are condemning Vick for the wrong reasons? I must have missed that part. I don’t think anyone has mentioned anything about denying Vick his human rights anywhere in this thread. People are simply responding to your assertion that their inability to forgive him for the atrocities he committed implies that they are possibly racist. Your words. Vick is an influential public figure of wealth and status who committed a heinous crime for which he served two years and forked over some cash. His grand comeback has been celebrated by some of the same people who would condemn Colin Kaepernick for taking a knee. It’s one thing to demand that Vick be treated fairly by the justice system. He was. It’s quite another to ask me to forgive him. I can’t. That’s between him and his god to hash out. Your reflexive, because-racism argument is one hell of a woke stretch.
