I've never watched the show, mainly because everyone was gushing about it being the perfect COVID anodyne and how refreshing it was in its lack of irony, and so on and so forth.

Many years ago, I went to London to visit a friend. Both of us were recently returned to our respective nations after several years shooting for the wires in Nicaragua and we were a bit lost and rudderless. He was into raves and partying until dawn with kids 10 years younger than him. One night he dragged me to one and handed me a capsule of Molly and some bottled water and told me, "You're going to love everyone." I swallowed the capsule and after a couple of hours, the only thing I felt was sleepy so I flagged down a cab and headed back to the house. I think my brain cut off the flow of oxytocin the second he uttered those 4 fateful words, you're gonna love everyone. I don't want to love everyone. I don't even want to like everyone. Until around the 14th century, the word "nice" meant unaware or ignorant.

My favorite TV character of all time is The Wire's Omar Devon Little - so much so that I named my dog after him.

Photography, you have always been a jealous bride. I will always love you — I’m just no longer in love.
