My reaction probably would have been along the lines of, “bitch, please — you’re freaking out over a dog no bigger than a sock?” and then I would have shared the experience with my other dog-loving friends, my grad students, random strangers at the grocery store checkout line. I probably would have posted something on Facebook. It wouldn’t have occurred to me that someone might have a legit dog phobia. Hmm. Thanks for making me reconsider. I too wonder how the woman makes it down the dog-infested block though.
