Sorry, but I have to disagree with you. We are not all in this together. We never were. We were not all in this together when we went into lockdown. We were not all in this together when being asked to wear masks. Some chose to wear them in order to protect ourselves, those we cared about, and the people in our communities. Others chose to throw tantrums and complain about their rights, as if their own personal self-indulgences carried the same weight as the inalienable rights guaranteed by the Constitution. When the vaccine rollout began, some patiently waited their turn, while continuing to wear masks until they were able to get vaccinated. Others continued to ignore the mask mandate and then later refused to get vaccinated. We are the richest country in the world and we hoarded more than our fair share of vaccines. While thousands of people in India, Indonesia, and other poor countries have died because the vaccine is not available, here in America we have a surplus of vaccines because some of us are so willfully ignorant and entitled to the point of utter depravity, that thousands of vaccines have to be thrown away. Fuck these people. They not only made a choice for themselves, they made it for other people as well. The heavy smoker dying of lung cancer may have regrets, but smoking was partly a choice and partly an addiction from which tobacco companies profited. The lung cancer patient did not spread lung cancer to others.

I’ll say it once again for the people in the back. Fuck these people. Because nothing will ever get through to them or make them alter their behavior until it affects them personally.

Photography, you have always been a jealous bride. I will always love you — I’m just no longer in love.
