Sweet, and I’m all for them mama bears, but at the end of the day, doesn’t everyone create god in their own image? Doesn’t everyone eventually wander into an echo chamber of their beliefs and build a church around it? The conservative churches are arguably the most laughable, hypocritical and toxic of the lot — their bible-pounding brethren quoting passages from Romans or Leviticus to justify their hatred. But the idea that people cherry-pick texts from sources that can’t be verified to bolster their argument is ludicrous to begin with. In an era of fake news, when people can’t even agree on the veracity of documented events accompanied by eye-witness testimony, photos and video, I’m astonished that people base their arguments on texts written thousands of years ago, edited countless times over the years by unknown authors. Our species is in the process of becoming extinct and neither Jesus nor Greta will save us.
