The "sad woman" who died was 35-year-old Ashli Babbitt, an Air Force veteran from a San Diego suburb where she owned a floundering pool supply company with her husband. She had taken out a $65,000 loan of which she paid just short of $4,000 and defaulted on the rest. In July of 2019, a judge issued a $71,000 judgement against her for failure to repay the loan.
She was a passionate supporter of Trump and subscribed to Q'Anon conspiracy theories. Ashli had strong opinions about immigration and masks. A sign on the door to her business read Mask Free Autonomous Zone
Better Known as America.
You choose to not only to fixate on semantics but deride the journalists - my friends and colleagues who I've known for years that literally risked their lives to document the events that transpired on Wednesday. Some of these same journalists have covered wars and civil unrest in Afghanistan, Iraq, Haiti, and Rwanda. The mob that ransacked the Capitol was made up of the same people who've spent the past 5 years insulting and attacking them for doing their job. On Wednesday, they were spat upon and attacked - their equipment smashed. How brave of you to critique and sit in judgment from the safety of your man cave or parents' basement.
Ashli Babbitt was an angry American idiot who joined a mob of insurrectionists and died a stupid, albeit fitting death - shot in the head while invading the nation's Capitol. She may have served in Iraq and Afghanistan and Qatar and Kuwait, but she died draped in a giant flag of Trump around her shoulders. Her loyalty lay not with American democracy, but with a narcissistic, arrogant, broken little imbecile of a man who politicized mask wearing during a pandemic. On Wednesday, January 6, 2021, the same day that Ashli Babbitt died her stupid death, 3,963 Americans died from COVID.
